Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

adoption

What are the laws and conditions on adoption in the state of Louisiana?

I recently gave my daughter up for adoption and we signed the papers as an open adoption . Now , everytime i ask to see her or write them they say they are too busy right now and put it off or say they have to call me back. The adoption if not final yet so it is still an open case what can i do?

Re: adoption

Open adoption only means you know the adoptive couple and they know you. Check the surrender you signed and I am sure it will note that you are signing freely and voluntarily, that you were counseled by an attorney different from the adoptive couple's attorney, AND, that the surrender is IRREVOCABLE after it is signed and that your parental rights are PERMANENTLY and IRREVOCABLE. The only way to nullify the surrender is to allege and prove fraud which is very difficult to do.
