Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

joint custody

My husband was married and had 2 children before me. We now have 2 of our own. His ex is remarried. We only see the 2 children 4 days a month.Their mother does not include us at all in their(children) life other than those 4 days. Is there anything at all we or he can do to have them more in our life? What is joint custody?

Re: joint custody

The rules regarding access to the children of any divided couple are established by Court order. At some time some court probably set a custody/visitation scheme for these kids.

I believe your husband needs to find and read the order if there is one. If the rules it sets are not appropriate, then he should see if a lawyer can file to change them. If there is no written order, then he should have a lawyer file to get a written order.
