Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

How can I protect myself from debt and other obligations my spouse might acquire during our physical separation? Legal separation is no longer recognized in my state (Louisiana).

You are not responsible for any debts incurred by your spouse after the date the divorce petition is filed.
