settlement for a minor

my son who was involved in an accident. we hired an attorney and now getting ready to settle. since then my 17 y/o has moved out of my home. the settlement is coming from my car insurance co. for unisured motorist he was a passenger in. is he intitled to this money himself or is it dispersed to me since i'm the one who paid/had the insurance to begin with?

Well, since he is a minor, there has to be a minor settlement, either with our without your involvement. However, if he was the one injuried, then it is his money. If you were married and got hurt and your husband paid the insurance, should not you get the money for the physical injuries? If you paid bills for him that he is being reimbursed for, then contact his lawyer.
