Legal Question in Medical Leave in Louisiana

I live in Louisiana, I had surgery and will be off work for 6 wks. My employer is forcing me to take FMLA I don't won't to use it because I'm a single parent and may need this sometime later with my children. I have enough earned sick leave to cover my surgery and recovery. Can I be forced to use FMLA?

If you have EARNED sick leave, you can use that.....AND if you have EARNED annual leave, you can use that too if your sick leave runs out. Sounds like he is having some financial problems. You may not have a job to go back to if that is the case. How is that hope and change working where you are?
