I purchased a home (bank repo) as is, however I addressed all issues prior to closing and the bank agreed to repair them and after getting into the home having numerous health effects we found that they didn't properly fix the defects and now our balcony is collapsing and we have very bad indoor air quality issues affecting our childrens health.I learned of the defects about a year and a half after living there. What recourse do we have to sue or negate the contract?
You will have to file a suit of redhibition. Your time of one year to institute suit begins running at the time you discover the defects.
