Legal Question in Personal Injury in Louisiana

auto accident

is there any such law called the no play no pay (or reverse) law dealing with auto accident. can one person get paid from an accident and not another when they are both in the same vehical? also do you have to have any kind of insurance on a rental truck to move the vehical? and if your injuries are higher than the persons policy can you still sue them personally or are you just out of luck? one more thing if you have property in the vehical at the time of the wreck that is damaged and now lost does the person who caused the accident have to pay for those items or atleast replace them?

Re: auto accident

Because all drivers in Louisiana are rrequired to have at least 10 Thousand dollars of liability coverage, a few years ago Louisiana law was changed wherein uninsured drivers would not collect the first 10 Thousand dollars of damages they suffered. A non-owner passenger in a vehicle, having no obligation to provide insurance, is always entitled to collect all damages suffered.
