Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

If my purchas agreement says the seller will turn the house over to me in the same or better condition at closing as it was the date if the contract and there was a hail storm after the contract but prior to closing, who is responsible for fixing the roof? At closing, the house was sold as is with no warranty. Which legality takes precedence?

The seller owed you the duty under the purchase agreement and the sale to disclose the damage done to the roof, and likely had insurance to cover the damage - you should have a valid claim against the seller
