Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

Title Problems

There is a piece of property in Louisiana that I am paying property taxes on. This property is owned by my Grandfater (50%) my Great-Grandfather (25%), and my Great Uncle (25%). All are deceased. I would like to become legal owner of the property. Other than starting a succession, is there any other way that I could become the owner of this property? What do I need to do?

Re: Title Problems

Succession is the only way. Heck, you may inherit it all anyway.

Re: Title Problems

A succession would likely need to be performed on all three persons. Whether you inherit the whole piece of property depends on whether either of them had a will and any children or other heirs either of them had.

You should probably consult with an attorney.
