Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Ancillary Succession in Louisiana

My husband and I own a timeshare week in New Orleans, LA with our home residence in Kentucky. My husband passed away in 2007. I thought the timeshare would simply be listed in my name as co-owner, but when I received our 2008 paperwork it was listed as ''The Estate of . . .'' When I inquired at the resort why my name was not listed I was told I must process Ancillary Succession in the State of Louisiana. How do I get this process started?

Re: Ancillary Succession in Louisiana

Contact an attorney in Louisiana to start the process. The exact steps will depend on whether or not your husband had a will.
