My father recently passed away without a will, my mom is still alive. The only thing they owned of value was a house, I believe that half of the estate which is my fathers would belong to his heirs. Could my mother give her half of the house to one of the children leaving my fathers half to be divided among the 7 children?

If all the children are over 23 years old and none are mentally disabled, yes.
