Legal Question in Workers Comp in Louisiana

lost of limbs and pain and suferingand a lot more

my husband has lost his 4th and 5th toes due to a injury at work he has nerve and severed tendons ,crushed bones that want grow back together and also hardly any circulation on the top of his right foot his foot is disfigured and he might not be able to go back to work ever a 370lb iron beam fell on his right foot at work he is getting workers comp but he is scared to death that he is gonna get screwed he just wanted me to see how much is an accident like this worth because he has never had to go threw anything like and he just wants to know that when the insurence people start s making offers how much should we expect we don't want to have to go to court if we don't have to but if it comes down to that we wilol because i am not gonna let him settle for nothing i have seen all the pain and suffering and depression and everyhting he is still going through

You should contact an attorney. It is hard to answer your questions without sitting with you and getting more details. But I will do my best. If this is strictly a workers comp case, then he would probably be eligible for total permanent disability. Unfortunately, WC limits the amount he would get and that would end after 10 years. He would continue to get his medicals paid if related to the work injury, however the total money he will get is relatively small compared to the amount he would get if it was a negligence case. So, one question I would ask is how did the beam fall, and who was responsible for the beam and its stability? Anyway, if it is strictly WC then the money will be disappointing.
