modification of child support

I moved to Maine 6 mo ago with 2 kids from ended marriage. Ex pays cs thru MA DOR and the order is in MA where do I request to have it modified. I live in ME and ex in MA. Order is in MA

The general rule of thumb is that a six-month residency is required. That would allow you to file your action to modify here in Maine. You would have to domesticate your order here in Maine and then file an appropriate motion in the ditrict court covering your area.

However, please bear in mind that you would still need to serve your ex in Massachusetts and, if he does not pay, you would need to enforce your order in Mass as well. This may entail enlisting the aid of the Mass Department of Human Services, if you have not alresdy done so.
