mail in the workplace
Is it legal for a receptionist to open mail (U.S Mail) that is addressed to another employee?
Re: mail in the workplace
It is common practice in an office environment for a secretary or receptionist to open company-related mail, regardless of the addressee, unless the office policy is otherwise. Mail marked "personal" should never be opened this way. If you don't want anyone opening your mail, you should so instruct the support staff.
