Legal Question in Business Law in Maryland
Hello my name is Sashauna Green. I am a William Wirt Middle School Student. I am a lawyer in the making. At my school we have this program called AVID (advancement via individual determination). This program is getting the children in the middle ready for college. In this class I have a project that will help learn more about being a lawyer. This project included an interview with a lawyer. Can I please have 5 minutes of your time to ask you some question? The questions are�����
1. How long did you go to school before you became a lawyer?

3. How long do you work daily in order for you to finish a case?
4. Do you like your job and why
5. What do you like most and least about your job?
6. How is it like working on a case with people you don�t know?

LOL - I think they probably wanted you to TALK to someone. But I'll try to help you out a little.
1. First you must graduate high school, of course. Then 4 years of college and 3 years of law school.
2. It depends - marketing to get clients, meet clients, negotiate/talk with other lawyers or insurance adjusters about cases. Oh, and lots of research - either at the law library or online depending on the topic.
3. It depends. Some days I may work 1-3 hours. Other days I may have to work 14+ hours to meet a deadline, wrap something up, finish a motion for court, or to be adequately prepared for a hearing/trial.
4. I love my job because I primarily work for myself, I can set my own hours, and I get to help people.
5. Most- the flexibility and being able to help people. The least - how some people think all lawyers are bad people and how some dont like to pay.
6. Its okay, except you have to deal with a lot of different personalities and learn how to handle many types of people.
