Sports Stadium Map

I am looking to use a venue map of a professional sports stadium for a website as well as the name for the stadium and general information about the stadium (e.g. - locations of amenities). Do I need any licensing from the stadium? How much of a licensing fee or royalties would I have to pay if the website is generating profit?

Re: Sports Stadium Map

If you want to use a map that already exists you will need permission from whoever owns the copyright. That may or may not be the stadium, though the stadium may also have to sign off on your use. If you want to make your own map you will probably need the stadium's permission. Either way, there is no formula to calculate the fee you will have to pay. That is something you will have to negotiate. Keep in mind that the other side is not required to let you do this. Even if it is willing to go along, it may insist on a higher fee than you can afford.
