collection

my credit card balance went in collection, i have been treaten if i do not pay $1000 x month they goin to put judgment agaist my home, i keep pay $1000 x month, but i can not afford that sum anymore,i told them i can pay $500x month ,but they say no what can i do? i told them im a diabetic ,i need to split the $1000 between then /my health insurence their response was they dont care. please help

There may be some violation of the FDCA but would need a little more information. If they have not sued you in court for the balance then they have no judgement against you in which they can place a judgement lien on your house. Generally, they just want to get there money and do so as quickly as possible. Sometimes a letter and/or phone call from an attorney can help resolve the matter and get a payment plan in place that is acceptable to both you and the credit card company. You can also try to speak to a supervisor and see if a different payment plan can be put in place.
