Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Post Judgment procedures

I have a judgement against me for an unsecured loan and have been notified of a hearing to determine my assets. What happens at that hearing? I am just starting to look into filing bankruptcy due to an unexpected financial hardship but I am afraid of losing my car or something before I get that completed. Does it matter that none of my property is in my name only? I have been disabled due to a work related injury for almost a year now with no income for the past 7 months. I have a workmens comp hearing scheduled for tomorrow.

Re: Post Judgment procedures

I do not particularly pratice as a bankruptcy attorney, but your circumstances sound like you may be a good candidate for bankruptcy, and should contact an experienced bankruptcy attorney. They can explain the exemptions that may apply in your case.
