Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Maryland

Sold rental property responsable for water bill.

I've rented a single family home for 6 years and the tentants moved in 1995 June then I moved in for one year in 1995 and moved out in 1996 to rent it out again to new tentents now the new tentents rent from me one full year and the previous tentent bought the property in 1997 now the tentents that lived in it in 1996 never paid a water bill and the people also in 1995 for a least last 3 months after i sold the property to them they went to WSSC and said they bought the properety in 1997 inwhich they did but the catch is I was servered by WSSC Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission that I owe a water bill for 1995-1997 inwhich I don't--name removed-- I feel I don't and I want to know what is my rights in this very important matter--name removed-- Located in Prince Georges Maryland--name removed-- Thank you--name removed--

If you own the property, you owe the water bill. You may have a third-party claim against the former tenants to try to get it back from them.
