Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

I live in San Diego, and I own my home in Baltimore, md.. My friends that rented my house, really stuck it to me, when they left they took my personal belongings, mistreated my house as well as ran up bills in my name ( that was supposed to be switched over to theirs).. I do plan to sue them as well as file criminal charges for the things they took from my home. ( I saved text messages from the one , because it read how she was going to pay the bill not to worry, I figure this would help) So my question is, with me living out of state is there anyway I can have some one else act on my behave.. or do I have to travel back and forth..also how do I find their new address to serve them

No one could testify on your behalf. You would likely have to run back and forth for criminal proceedings. A civil attorney may act on you behalf in a lawsuit, but may not testify for you. A private investigator might be necessary to find folks. I suggest that you also post your question in a tort or landlord/tenant forum.

Keep in mind that you do not want to add insult to injury sending good money after bad trying to hold these folks accountable.
