Should I mention a Stet Docket that has not been expunged on a job application?

I was arrested for possession of marijuana two years ago and the result was that it was put on a stet docket for three years, meaning I have not had it expunged yet. I am currently applying for a summer internship and they ask "Have you ever been convicted of violating any state, federal... laws". I know a stet docket is not a conviction, so I should I even bother to put it on there even though it hasn't been expunged?

You are right, Stet isn't a conviction. Don't put it on the application. If they ask you, tell them you were NEVER found guilty and it will be expunged in a year.

While answering no is accurate, it is a judgement call whether you do not accidentally call the existence of stet versus complete candor in a potential business relationship. Some employers do not check. Others may feel that a "record" was not disclosed, even though you give a legally correct answer.
