Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

parole violation

My boyfriend violated his parole by leaving a drug treatment program that he was required to attend. His parole officer violated him in March 2004. They came to our house and picked him up on a warrant yesterday morning. What is the outcome likely to be for this situation? Also, will the judge, or whoever makes the decision, take into consideration things such as that he has no new charges, has been a productive citizen, and has a very young child? thank you so much for any information.

Re: parole violation

A parole violation is similar to a violation of probation. Little evidence is needed to establish that a violation occurred. His new life should be documented as extensively as possible. Employment, family, friends, and any professional assistance he may be getting should be written on official letter head. The hearing officer has the authority to lock him up for the rest of his sentence, send him home with a warning, or anything in between. He should not make excuses for what he failed to do, he should show what he has become and his potential to live drug free. My fee for such violations is $500.00 410-659-7661
