Re: statuate of limitations on dui charges?

You most likely have a Bench Warrant outstanding and it will be open until they stop you and run your name thru the computer and serve it. You need to contact someone in Md. to check it for you, never mind the statute of limitations; that's a legal argument your lawyer will have to make AFTER they pick you up and you are in jail awaiting trial. The deputy or the cop on the beat who makes the collar won't bother with those things; they are not going to have constitutional argument on speedy trial or SoL, at 2am in the open highway. Suggest that before you take the step, investigate and if the warrant is there, move to have it set aside or quashed. Good Luck. Joe Trevino, 301-441-3131
