Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Maryland

Sexual descrimination

I recently applied for a job within the company I work for. I was denied the job due to the fact I am not 25 years of age. Not long after I was denied the position a female under 25 years of age was hired for the same position. Do I have a case for descrimination what should I do?

Re: Sexual descrimination

You may have an age discrimination claim and/or a sex discrimination claim. However, I would need the details to help you decide if you should pursue any action. If you did bring an action, you would have to file a claim with either the EEOC or a state human rights agency before you can go to court. You can do that either with or without an attorney.

What you have is solid evidence of pretext. Now the question remains,--has your employer violated a PROTECTED right. For this, you have to inquire more deeply. If you think there has been discrimination, do some reading on the EEOC website, then file a claim.
