can I buy a house in md without my wife coming after it? We have not been living together for 4 months but have not filed for seperation. Do I need to do this to protect myself?

The general rule is that any property acquired during the marriage (including the time you are separated) is considered marital property subject to equitable distribution. She may have a claim to the marital portion of any equity in the new home.
