Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Child Support

My boyfriends ex wifes lawyer set the price of child support that must be paid monthly. Due to the fact that my boyfriend didnt have a lawyer there with him at the time. Now this price tag is much to high standing at over 600 a month. And i am having trouble paying bills. What can we do to get this amount taken down some and so his ex stops hanging the fact that she doesnt have to and wont go to work and that he is late with payments over his head ? Always saying that shes going to call the child support people on him. thanks for any help you could give me.

Re: Child Support

Maryland, like other states, uses mandatory child support guidelines that establish a presumptively correct amount of support to be paid based on the parents' income and other factors. If the current agreement deviates from this significantly, your boyfriend may be able to seek a modification of the agreement. Also, he might be able to seek modification, even if the agreement was correct when it was entered in to, if your boyfriend's circumstances have changed significantly.
