Getting ex financie out of my home

I own my home and want him to leave. Have been together 7 yrs and this has been his primary residence but he also lives in Canada he is Canadian, and travels all the time for work 68 nights at Holiday Inn this year . I worked the first 4 yrs and we split all the bills the past couple yrs he has paid more due to my change in employment.He is now telling me to sell my home , better yet he thinks he is going to sue me . Im the sole owner on both the deed and mortgage.Does he have any rights? I don't know the legality of his work permits here is the US, if any?? Please help! He scares me!!Attacked me once before!!

If you are in fear for your safety I would suggest applying for a protective order. You may do so either in District or Circuit court in Maryland. If granted, a protective order would essentially make it illegal for him to contact you or come to places the court ordered him to stay away from. It could also remove him from the home.

As for the home that you own solely in your name, since he is not on the deed or the mortgage, he has no immediate claim to it. He cannot force you to sell your house. I am happy to answer your questions in more detail. Please feel free to call me.
