Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I am trying to leave my husband,, the problem is that I sold my car about 8 months ago on the condition that he would finance a new one for me, now he says i cant take the car, I make the payments and pay the insurance, its my only car an I use it for work everyday, he has 3 other cars???

Your vehicle is marital property, and therefore it is both of yours. My guess is that it is only titled in his name, and tat he may have a key to it. If this is correct, even though you can take the car, he can then take it back.

If he does want to take it back, he risks breach of the peace and can be arrested for it. My advice to you is to have myself or another attorney represent you and explain things to your husband, including how such actions look in a divorce context.
