Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

property rights

My DH of 3 years decided he wants me to move out of the house and share custody of our 3 year old. I have been a SAHM for 2 years and he works 4 days per week. The house we live in is owned by DH's parents business. Says if I won't leave he will get his father to evict me. Is this possible? We have been living here for 1.5 years and both names are on other bills.

Re: property rights

Unfortunately, with no ownership interest in the property or a lease in your name, the father can control the property. You can certainly take your child and file a court petition for custody and child support. You will probably qualify for a pro bono (free) attorney through the county bar association. Hopefully you have someone who can take you in.
