Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Will I get anything?

My stbx took all the equity out of our house (my name is not on the mortgage) after we separated. He has proceeded to hide/spend it all. He also has been recieving Md/state retirement/disability payments. Can I ask for his income or half of it in lieu of the equity that he would owe me if he proves to the court that he spent all of my half of the marital equity?

Re: Will I get anything?

The court will look at all marital property and the interest that you may have in that property during the marrage if you assisted in tits appreciation/mgmt - you probably did. You should probably speak to an atty about filing a Motion for lis pendis on that property or any other to prevent him from absconding with the money.

Since each person's situation is different, it would be impossible and unethical to give legal advice without a full conference as an attorney/client relationship would require, obtaining in-depth facts particular to that case.
