Under the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act provisions, unfortunately grandchildren are not included as applicable family members. However, if your daughter's medical situation qualifies, you may be able to use the leave to take care of your daughter. So, indirectly, you can also use it to take care of your grandchild. You can obtain the required forms from your employer or her doctor, complete and submit them for approval.

This answer does not provide information on any Maryland laws that may also grant you leave.
