Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Can I sue the court commissioner?

I was given an extremely unreasonably high bail by the court commissioner ($500,000) based on hearsay evidence, and was eventually found not guilty. However, I had to pay $10,000 to get out of jail (after the judge lowered the bail to $100,000). The bail was really unreasonable and, although I was found not guilty, I was ultimately punished financially. Can I sue the commissioner for levying such a high bail and get my $10,000 back?

Re: Can I sue the court commissioner?

No--he enjoys judicial immunity just like a judge and can't be sued just because you disagree with a judicial decision he made.
