Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

I signed a contract with my current employer agreeing to pay him $1,000 in the event that I quit without giving two weeks notice. If I am fired against my will is it legal for him to re fuse to relinquish the pay checks he owes me because technically it was not my choice and I was unable to give two weeks notice to be fired.

that is a violation of both the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and the Maryland Wage Payment Act, both of which require that wages are paid "as and when due". That is, they must be paid on the regular pay day. Failure to pay on time, means that you may be entitled to double or triple damages if you bring suit against his employer.
