Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

During a custody battle with my child's father , he had me falsely arrested and thrown in jail for attacking him, which never occurred. He also had his employees perjury themselves in court. He has filed false charges of kidnapping on me, he withdrew our child from school without my permission and even though i have custody the child support office is still charging me for child support not him. I would like to file a lawsuit for having me arrested and lying in court is there any recourse. it has been 5yrs and he is still filing cases. Help please

You cannot file a lawsuit against the father for having you arrested. The police made the decision to arrest you, not the child's father. It doesn't matter if the father lied to the police -- ultimately, the police have the discretion of whether to arrest you or not. If the father's employees perjured themselves in Court, then it's on the father's employees, not the father. If the father is lying to the court, there is no lawsuit you can file against the father to make him stop lying to the Court.

My suspicion is that you have been dealing with the father and these custody issues on your own, without an attorney. I think that's a HUGE mistake. When one parent decides to use the Court system to manipulate and torment the other parent, it is time to hire an attorney to represent your interests. I know attorneys are expensive, but I think you will find that the father will stop running you around in circles if he gets yanked into court by your attorney every time he tries.

Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.********
