Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

Since the negligence personal injury statue of limitation is 3 years. Does this mean I have at least 3 years to settle a lawsuit or to file a lawsuit (and how long will it need to be settle afterwards)?

In most negligence cases, you have 3 years from the date of the incident to file suit. There is no time deadline for settling. Many cases that aren't settled prior to the filing of a suit do end up being settled before or even during trial.
