Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

land theft

In 2004 after the death of my sister the orphans court issued all family members a packet, in this packet i discovered that land that was mine and my sisters had been transfered to the deceased sister in 1992 my signiature had been forged on this deed, and before her death she or the papers transfering the land to my fathers new wife were filed. Now i am not sure whos name the land is in. But all in all my name was forged and i never gave any one my land, after looking at the documents and questioning my family my sister sabrina admitted doing this by order of my father. Is there a way to get my land back . I can not afford an attorney

Re: land theft

You would have to file a lawsuit against the current record owner of the property, known as a "quiet title" action. You will need an experienced real estate attorney to do this. You should contact the bar association in your county to see if you qualify for a free attorney based upon your income.
