I would like information on paying back taxes. Can I file bankruptcy on state and federal taxes?

Re: Back taxes owed

More facts are needed to properly assess the tax/legal options and strategy available to you/your family. Income taxes are dischargeable in bankruptcy if certain conditions are met but other types of taxes are not dischargeable in bankruptcy (trust fund taxes for example). There are different types of bankruptcy that need to be considered (Ch 7 liquidation filing vs Ch 13 reorganization filing for example). An experienced tax attorney should be able to handle this type of matter for you/your family. A signed engagement letter is necessary in order to engage my services as an attorney. If I can be of any help to you or people you know, contact me as I would be pleased to provide tax/legal support.
