Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Can i fight this?

June 7: Tags were stolen at Greenbelt Metro Station.I didn't report it to the Metro Transit Police.I have never dealt with stolen tags.I was going to report it to the MVA on June 8.It was about 6:00pm.

June 8: I parked at a meter at Greenbelt Metro Station and paid for it. The car had no tags at all and I didn't put a sign in the window.Metro Transit Police gave me a $50 Prohibited Abandonment ticket and had my car towed for Safekeeping. It cost me $175 to get it back on June 9.

Was my vehicle technically ABANDONED if I paid for the meter and caught the train to go to work?

Your account may get a reduction of the fine but driving without tages in the lot is a problem as to the towing fee. Doesn't that lot have signs stating what the rules are? Generally the parking lot reserves the right to revoke the license it granted to park there.
