Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Hit by a cop.

I followed a car through an intersection through a light i thought was not red(not 100% sure) and a cop hit me on the side of my car. Everytime i would get out of the car someone told me to get back in. After a half an hour they told me to go to the police station. (can they do that) After i sat there for another 30 min they took me back and issued me a ticket for running the red light. They refused to give me any of the cops info and told me to pick up a copy of the police report in a week. (can they do that) They also never took a statement from me on my side of the story. I did see a paper that had a statement on it from the cop the hit me. The cop said he bumped his head. (how do i know if he had a seat belt on) There was also no skid marks why didnt he slow down when he saw the car if front of me go through the light? On the police report it said that i ran a red light and struck him which is false. (can i do anything about that) Someone did ask me if i could say 100% that the light was red and i said no. They still gave me a ticket. As far as i know there were no witnesses. I have a clean record and am going to court for my ticket. I wanted some advice on what to say based on the events that took place.

Hit by a cop.

It would be in your best interest to discuss this case face to face with a trial lawyer, like myself. Since the cop struck you, you were obviously in the intersection first. The fact that you were not permitted to get out of the car deprived you the opportunity to get witnesses.
