Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

probation violation - interlock usage violation

i need to go before a judge for a probation violation for a number of ''fails'' w/ the interlock (none while moving). always while attempting to start the vehicle. had NO idea that this could get me in trouble. viewed the interlock as a ''safety blanket''. my probation does NOT prohibit me from drinking, BUT it does say that i should not attempt to drive a vehicle after drinking and i have an alcohol restriction on my license.

totally blown away by this. i've met all other requirements of my probation (see a probation officer, and attend A. A. mtngs.).

what can i expect? i was truly ignorant to the ramifications of car start failures w/ the interlock.

please advise.

Re: probation violation - interlock usage violation

Are you saying that, while your probation doesn't prohibit you from drinking, you were actually going to start the vehicle after you'd been drinking and then NOT drive it? You should contact an attorney immediately to discuss this case in detail!

Attempting to drive after drinking will not be viewed well and you should seek representation immediately. Several matters exist. Revocation of your driving privilege may occur as a result of a conviction.
