Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Maryland

No will

my uncle recently passes away in a va hospital having no will or real property he had a joint savings account with my mother which upon his death was closed by mom.the problem and question is this ;my uncle had another sister is she entitled to half of the joint savings account since he left no will?

When a person dies without a last will and testament they are said to die "intestate." Probate assets of the intestate estate are then divided according to the intestacy statute. In such a case, only probate assets are divided by application of the intestacy statute. Jointly titled accounts are not subject to division as title had previously vested during the decedent's life with a joint account holder(s).
