Re: nursing covered under the same laws?
Nurses are covered under the Maryland worker's compensation laws like any other occupation. This means that if you suffer an accidental injury while working, you are entitled to benefits. Accidental injury means something unforeseen or unexpected happened which caused your injury. An injury that is a natural consequence of doing your normal job will not be covered.
Re: nursing covered under the same laws?
Hi. Well, first of all, the answer to your question is yes.
However, it is not quite that simplistic. The manner in which you are injured will
also determine whether you are covered under workers' compensation. You must be injured
by means of an "unusual occurrence," among other requirements.
I know all of your respondents will say this, but I would suggest you contact an attorney
for a determination of whether the circumstances of your injuries meet the standardds to be
covered by the law. You should know that fees for this type of case are regulated by the law, so you should
have no trouble seeing an attorney free of charge for consultation.
Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery.
