Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

contracted to do wedding

I was contracted to do a wedding shoot, informed said person the amount, told him after the originals were picked up, that the bill was $400, and that this amount was to be paided before duplicates were picked up and no payment was made, yet his daughter came and claimed the pictures. Now, ''the father'' claims that I have no right to use any of the pictures taken in my advertisement. States that she now wants modeling fees of $500. I have 2 witnesses to her fathers approach and a verbal contract. His daughter did not contract me, he did, so she is not in the wrong, he is. When she came to claim the pictures, in which she was very pleased, gathered the photos (over a 100 in the complete set) and states that her father will be in touch with me later. The ''father'' has a history of non payments and breach of contracts. After she left my house, I called her father and demanded to know why he was lying to me, in which the situation stands as is. ''father'' tried to contact one of the people that he ''screwed'' before and redemn himself with this individual, slandering me and tried to convince ''individual'' not to have me do his wedding shoot. What are my coarses of action, thank you.

Re: contracted to do wedding

I wouldn't waste time going back and forth with this individual. He retained your services. You're entitled to be paid. File suit in small claims court. Let him tell his story of woe to the judge.
