Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Inventory after passage of smoking ordinance

Does our 10 year old business have any recourse when a newly

enacted city/county smoking ban renders our existing tobacco

inventory as well as the space dedicated to cigar related business

useful/unfeasible? The property is still useable as a bar but we

have sufffered substantial decline in business and have thousands

in inventory remaining. Thank you.

Re: Inventory after passage of smoking ordinance

If previously licensed (where necessary)you can continue to sell cigaretts and cigars - your customers just can;t smoke them. Expand drinking area into cigar room. It's legal because law was issued under the public health rights of the legislature.
