Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

Unpaid wages & fees

I live in CT and worked in Mass. My employer sent my check to the wrong address and are now charging me a stop payment fee, which will be deducted from my paycheck. I worked 24hrs from April 9th to April 11th. I have not received any type of pay from them and I was told I would have to wait until this upcoming Thursday for another check to be issued. Anything I can do about this?

If they sent the check to the wrong address, they should pay the stop payment fee not you. I assume your employer uses a payroll company and that may be the complication. At this stage, you are a week away from getting the check. They should be able to re-issue a check once the bank confirms the stop-payment which takes 24 hours usually. So if this happened today they will not know for sure until Friday or Monday. So you are now talking 3 days.
