Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Massachusetts

deposition question

I have been subpoenaed, I believe as a witness for a deposition, I got a check that says Witness Fee,

however the lawyer asking me for the depostion is pointing finger at me as being the guilty party (of wich I have proof I am not)

what does this mean, I was once at his office and he is asking for the same materials, then pointed finger at me, now asking me to be a witness?

I am confused.

Re: deposition question

Because you may have some liability exposure in this matter, it might be a good idea to consult with an attorney of your own.

It sounds as though you are useful to the other attorney in this case as a way for them to prove that someome other than his client caused the harm.

Unless you have hired this attorney, he does not represent you, and does not necessarily have your best interests in mind.

Please feel free to contact my office should you wish to discuss this further.
