Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

bought boat, engine was bad

I bought a used boat and the third time I used it we started having problems. Had a mechanic (a side job) replace some parts that went a couple times, still problems. Turns out the engine is bad. I am still making payments on this boat with a blown engine. Seller says he has no obligation to fix or take money off the original price. Are there any laws that will help me? What can I do? I don't even own the boat yet - still owe $800 out of almost $7,500 total.
