This happens ALL the time in Court!

You should look carefully at what you actually signed. If it says something to the effect of "agreement for judgment", then you just granted the plaintiff a verdict and awarded them the full amount they were seeking. You may be able to have this judgment removed in the event that you did not know what you were signing by filing a motion to remove the judgment.

My advice would be to retain an attorney and negotiate a settlement of this debt for less than you owe. Our firm is amenable to flat-fee arrangements and even contingent arrangements, where you do not owe any money unless we are able to reduce your debt.
