Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

is it illegal for someone(other then yourself) to give out my name and phone number to a creditor..a creditor called my home looking for someone who never lived with me, looking to collect monies from this person........can that be illegal... this happened in attleboro, ma......

No-however creditors may not discuss a debt with anyone else besides the debtor.
