Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I am a 17 year old and feel my 4th amendment rights were violated. I was drinking on a college campus outside of my car in plastic cups. I was with 5 people, however we were not being loud, and were grilling before a school event. When the police came they asked what we were drinking and we said fruit punch--it was a mixed drink. Soon after they asked to search my car, looking for alcohol. I stated that I did not think they had the consent to search my car. Rather than listen, the officer questioned me, asking if I had gone to law school, stating I had no idea what I was talking about. Instead of resisting, I let him search my car, as a result of their manipulation. I was wondering if this search as legal or not, even though no criminal charges were brought amongst my friends and I. Please let me know, I would like to know my rights for any future encounters I may come upon. Thank you!

If you gave your consent to search-it's legal no matter how it came about.
